About Danella Haro-Aguayo
Hello and welcome! I’m Danella Haro-Aguayo.
I’m an artist, illustrator, and art teacher—passionate about bringing beauty, emotion, and a touch of magic into everyday life through watercolor.
I live in New Jersey, surrounded by the Poconos to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and an incredible amount of amazing trees and greenery in between. And let me tell you, this is the perfect place to get a lot of inspiration.
I’m originally from Peru; and growing up surrounded by rich culture, colors, and textures gave me a deep love for creativity and shaped the way I see the world today.
I hold a BFA from the Art & Design School of Miraflores, where I majored in Interior Design (Interior Architecture), and I worked in that field for over 12 years. Later on, I earned a Bachelor’s in Education from Ancash University.
Life brought some unexpected turns—hard moments and big changes that led me to shift directions. That journey is why I often say:
“Interior Designer by choice, Graphic Designer by chance, Web Designer by opportunity, Artist and Children Illustrator by passion.”
A constant exploration.
While I’ve explored many creative disciplines, watercolor completely stole my heart. There’s something about the way it flows—so unpredictable yet graceful—that feels like a conversation with nature itself. It’s now the soul of my work.
I’m inspired daily by the colors around me—especially those found in nature. I love realism, but I’m also drawn to the magic that exists in small moments, hidden shades, and everyday scenes. My Peruvian roots ground me and bring a unique voice to everything I create.
Over the years, I’ve had the joy of sharing my art in fairs, galleries, and exhibitions. But honestly, I still feel like this is just the beginning.
